DANAE.IO is pleased, in collaboration with the City of Paris and La Fondation pour la Sauvegarde de l'Art Français, to present the first Historical and Cultural Heritage NFT project, built on the blockchain, created by Claire Adelfang, deeply engaged in the development of cultural heritage.
The History of our cultural heritage is engraved in the stones of our monuments, mute witnesses and guarantors of our identity shaped over the centuries.
In a world in perpetual transformation, the preservation and transmission of heritage are of paramount importance.
DANAE.IO creates bridges between the past and the present by inviting contemporary artists to interpret and reimagine architectural treasures.
According to the latest health assessment conducted in 2018 by the Ministry of Culture, 23.3% of the 44,540 buildings covered by a protection measure are classified in poor condition or in danger. This situation represents a major challenge and leads us to rethink in a profound and significant way our responsibility towards our heritage.
It is with this in mind that we are joining forces with la Sauvegarde de l’Art Français and the City of Paris for an innovative project to promote heritage. The artist Claire Adelfang, who collaborates with the Château de Versailles and the Opéra de Paris, has carried out in-situ work in the Saint-Étienne-du-Mont church. This approach is perfectly in line with André Malraux's vision, where contemporary artists appropriate monuments to reinterpret them and offer their unique and renewed vision.
Claire Adelfang's in-situ work revolves around physical prints and unique NFT works. Collectors of these NFTs will also have access to bespoke benefits as patrons of the project.
These creations will be unveiled during the Journées du Patrimoine and auctioned at l’Hôtel de Ville du Cinquième Arrondissement, with the funds generated being allocated to the restoration of the building's stained glass windows.
This collaboration is being deployed in two distinct phases
-
An online sale will be organized on Catawiki from September 13 to 24, offering a series of 16 virtual works in NFT format, accompanied by small format printed prints and patron benefits — meetings and highlights around l’Hôtel de Ville for a year.
-
A physical auction orchestrated by Pierre Bergé on September 28, offering 10 large format photographs.
